Summary of the experimental school project Experimental educational and teaching-method project in compulsory schools. By Lapis and the "D. Dolci" Association It is based on the diagnosis of an "anachronistic school" producing individual and social malaise. In fact, it is a school producing 1 - a nation who is indifferent to reading, a school 2 - afflicted by heavy dropout fostering, amongst other things, crime; a school 3 - impotent to the spreading of drug addiction and 4 - to the loss of community sense. The reason for all this: the teaching system is old. (Today's problems cannot be solved with the way of thinking that generated them, Ervin Laszlo). Therefore, experimentation must intervene in the teaching system. In order to do so, it must establish objectives, which can be "negative" and "positive". Negative objectives: 1 - struggle against boredom, against an alienating school; 2 - struggle against school dropout; 3 - overcoming of the instrumental idea of culture (knowledge in order to be and not to have); 4 - overcoming of dependence on patterns in the name of independence. Positive objectives: 1 - to implement learning as a research process ("learning to be"); 2 - to promote and not repress curiosity, transforming it into a research method; 3 - to provide the awareness that worldly evils can be combated; 4 - to get used to reasoning in terms of interdependence (reality as an organic system); Lastly, technical details will be processed by a group of experts.
