Lapis (Italian acronym for Free Association for the Advancement of Education) is an organisation that fights against school dropout. Its goal is to give children the right to education that so many do not receive. One of its numerous activities is the project to build experimental schools following a matching criteria: one school in an industrialised county, one in a developing country. This project, carried out together with the "Danilo Dolci" Association has already gained many sympathies. Lapis wants to found its action on a broader consensus, sharing ideas and experiences. This is why we are proposing a permanent international Lapis Internet Forum on experimental educational systems in elementary schools. We are eager on receiving all contribution of teachers, pupils, scholars, who would like to share experiences, projects and hopes. Lapis is not limited to the traditional institutional channels but wants to identify people in different countries who fight to overcome the intolerable differences in terms of access to knowledge. We want to give room to innovation and to report particularly difficult situations in the educational environment of the different regions. The Lapis Internet Forum wants to gather all these contribution and stimulate an exchange of ideas. We hope that everybody will profit!
